Eligibility Criteria
Who Is Eligible for a Commonwealth Agriculture Loan?
To qualify for a loan from the Commonwealth Trust Fund, applicants must meet certain base requirements. We ensure our funding supports projects that are viable, impactful, and scalable.
Special Consideration
• Women-owned or youth-led agricultural businesses• Projects promoting sustainable practices
• Climate-smart or green technology initiatives
• Community-based or cooperative models
Basic Eligibility Requirements
• Be a citizen or registered entity in a Commonwealth country• Be engaged in a recognized agricultural activity (farming, fisheries, livestock, processing, etc.)
• Provide a valid business plan or project proposal
• Have a track record of operations (at least 12 months)
• Be legally registered or licensed (where applicable)
Ineligible Applicants
• Non-agricultural businesses• Individuals or entities on international sanctions lists
• Projects involving deforestation, wildlife trafficking, or non-compliant practices
